Trial Night Information

If you have never participated in Little Athletics before and would like to see if you like it before signing up, then we'd love to invite you to our Trial night.


Athletes who are interested in giving Little A's a go, but aren't quite sure can come along and try it out before paying the registration fee.


If your children are interested in joining Little Athletics, they can join us for 2 consecutive Friday night sessions for just $5.00 per child per trial night.


The night is designed to give children and parents a chance to experience what a Friday night competition is like at Glasshouse District Little Athletics.


Parents, it gives your children a chance to see if they will enjoy the activities before you pay the registration fees. 


Kids will participate in age-appropriate events which will include running, jumping, and throwing. 


  • SIGN ON NIGHT IS: Friday 25th August 2023


  • WHEN: TRIAL NIGHT and first Run Night is Friday 1st September 2023
  • WHERE: Skippy Park, Old Landsborough Road, Landsborough
  • WHAT TIME: Arrive 5.00pm for a 5.30pm start until approximately 7.30pm
  • COST:  $5 per child per night


HOW DO I REGISTER: Registrations are completed online and new Athletes joining Glasshouse District Little Athletics will need to provide proof of Birth – either Birth Certificate or Passport, which must be sighted by our Registrar at the Club.


Parents must accompany children, and stay for duration of the evening.


Our canteen also runs on Friday nights which sells food and drinks.

What to Bring

Wear something comfortable to

run and be active in !!


  • Shorts and t-shirt
  • Running shoes (shoes are compulsory)
  • Bring a bottle of water
  • We will give you information sheets on the night with how to register

Code of Conduct

ATHLETES

  • Be a good sport - respect all good performances whether from your Centre or the opponents and shake hands with and thank the opposing athletes and officials after the event – win, lose or draw.
  • Participate for your own enjoyment and benefit.
  • Always respect the official’s decision. 


PARENTS and SPECTATORS 

  • Condemn all violent or illegal acts, whether by athletes, coaches, officials, parents or spectators
  • Respect the official’s decisions - on’t complain or argue about actions or decisions during or after an event
  • Unsportsmanlike language, harassment or aggressive behaviour will not be tolerated
  • Encourage athletes to play by the rules and to respect opposing athletes and officials
  • At all times follow the directions of the Arena Manager or other competition day officials  


OFFICIALS

  • Be impartial  !! Also, be consistent, objective, and courteous
  • Place the safety and welfare of the athletes above all else
  • Be alert to minimise dangerous physical play, fair or foul, especially competition days


COACH

  • Actively discourage foul play and/or unsportsmanlike behaviour by athletes
  • Seek to maximise the participation and enjoyment of all athletes regardless of ability
  • Avoid the tendency to over-use a talented athlete, treat all athletes as equals,regardless of their talent.
